About Flinders Partners

Flinders Partners is the commercialisation agent for Flinders University. Our job is to manage the licensing of intellectual property, and to facilitate the provision of researcher expertise to government and industry through consultancies and contracted research.
Flinders Partners adopt an "open" approach to managing the University's commercial interests, and place strong emphasis on the importance of forming commercial partnerships early. Value is seen as something to be created (rather than being a pre-existing attribute), and opportunities to derive economic value through collective partnerships. To us, it isn't just about making a deal; it is about investing in people and long-term relationships to ensure a mutually beneficial outcome is achieved for all involved.
Our Vision is to create and deliver relevant, brave and valuable ways of extending the University's value to the commercial environment, leading to Flinders University being recognised as a leader in partnering and a leader being a valuable partner.
Our Values inherent to our culture ensure our people always commit to:
1. Relentless pursuit of results
Our core philosophy revolves around outcomes. We will pursue our outcomes for clients despite the constraints and obstacles ensuring strong communication. We will maintain our integrity and continue to find solutions wherever possible.
2. Good Thinking
We aim to reward good thinking and always search for good ideas to add to our clients. We aim to translate this thinking into templates and foundations of workflow.
3. Constant Learning
We reflect and draw lessons from prior lessons and apply them to always try to do better. We seek out feedback and resources to help meet our objective.
4. Bravery is a key
We accept that risk is linked with reward, but we won't always be rewarded. We accept that bravery to take measured and calculated risk in itself is something we will reward and not criticise.
5. Personal Responsibility
We assume ownership of our work and our personal responsibility.
6. Positive thinking
We establish goals with a positive outlook. We assume the best in others.
7. Collective Impact
We value teamwork very highly, knowing every outcome will have had collective impact from the whole organisation. We will measure our contribution and ensure our actions always deliver a positive impact.
8. Respect
We approach people in a way that ensures they understand we value them and have high expectations of the contribution they can make. We understand our own limitations.
