Trans Tasman Commercialisation Fund
Friday, July 11, saw the launch of the new Trans Tasman Commercialisation Fund; with around 60 guests celebrating this exciting new venture. The fund is a unique collaboration between the three South Australian Universities and the Universities of Auckland and Monash, with support from SA and VIC State Governments, and the Government of NZ.
The fund aims to assist with the commercialisation of university research, and help drive new breakthroughs in a range or research areas. Capturing ideas from researchers and developing them into new businesses and products will create economic opportunities and real community benefits.
To reduce the risk that inherently resides with early stage technologies, the fund will work with other co-investors such as venture capitalists and qualified angel investors.Westscheme, a WA superannuation fund recognised as Australia’s largest investor in early stage medical, environmental and engineering technologies, has made $30 million available for the first 5 years of the fund.
If you have any questions regarding the fund, please contact Sinead O'Connell by email, or on 8201 7716.
